Girls, I need some advice ....

I've started researching cla and supplements and need some advice. Who is using them atm? what do you look for in a brand? what is a good brand? what else is a good supp? I've started using Jack3d to give me more energy for my workouts - pretty good - helps me lift heavier i think or is it mind over matter hehehe !! It does help me with hiit cardio at the end of a 1 hour weights workout. I do feel i need a helping hand esp. with the fat loss - i'm on a bit of a plateau. would love to hear opinions .... please !!!!

  1. I take Tonalin CLA and have for about 3 months or so. It's a local brand. I recently upgraded my triple omega supps to Prograde brand EFA icon. It's very spendy but supposedly has higher quality krill oil. Also from Prograde, I take BCAAs and mulitvitamin. ($$$) The BCAAs are supposed to help you maintain lean muscle tissue (among other benefits). Vitamin C, glucosamine, and ginko biloba - daily. Also, I cycle creatine monohydrate. Honestly, I don't think CLA is doing much for me, but then again, I'm not 100% faithful to my diet plan all the time. And I've heard it can take up to 6 months to notice, if it even helps at all. I only try it because it's $14 a bottle and that will last me a month. Same with creatine - don't think it does much for me. None of the supps I have taken within the last 6 months have helped me more so than when I didn't take them. But I wanted to see if they would give me an extra edge. So far I think I've just been losing money instead of inches ;) Everyone is different though! It never hurts to try if you are willing to dish out the cash.

  2. You know I like my jack3d too, glad you decided to try it! I just use whey protein really. Multi's are important. I was using BCAA's and glutamine for prep but haven't used them recently. The BCAA's help a little with energy too. I haven't used supps for fat loss though, I they are better for extra energy than for fat loss. If you hit a plateau I'd say look at your diet and maybe change that up a bit, or change up your workouts (intesity, types, etc).
